While working at the station, he built strong relationships with both colleagues and customers, becoming much more than just an employee. Many considered him part of the Caltex family because of the care and friendliness he showed to everyone he met.

Some would specifically request his assistance with everyday tasks such as filling their vehicles, checking tyres, or looking over their oil.
